Windstruck- Korea Movie

My friend told me 3 years ago to watch this movie that this is good, I don’t really have time back then and we don’t have a permanent internet connection so I can’t really watch.

And just this year I try to watch it, in my first attempt to watch it, I just download the video in you-tube but didn’t really watch it cause I found the start of the movie not too interesting.

Camera moving all over the city and the buildings and the opening song is not too catchy for me. So I decided to watch it again when I get my mood to watch it and that “moment” is just a minute later before I decided to write this. The movie entirely is a surprise. I really don’t want movie with sad momentum but this one catch me, the start of the story is a very good twist, their way of having a relationship together is not the typical boy and girl court me style, not much sweet or also called “cheesy” moments, there are some but not “ant crawling ones”.

The lead girl Jun Ji-hyun as Officer Yeo Khung-jin who acts as a cop in the story is really oozing with braveness, toughness and off course beauty. She is the type that you don’t want to mess with; I can’t believe that someone would actually handle a girl with that kind of character if she does truly exist. The lead man who name Go Myung-woo (played by Jang Hyuk) is a teacher and a “always” concerned citizen destined to meet her love in the a very unwanted situation which is mistaken him as a criminal by officer Kyung-jin, beat him and bring him in the police station. In that way, they love story starts and the feelings inside me starting to dance and play as each scenes of the movie goes on. It was not a typical love story that I just felt love. It was affection maybe that is the better way to describe it.

My affection to the movie is like the affection of Kyung-jin to Myung-woo or likewise the affection of Myung-woo to Kyung-jin, it doesn’t show or rather it is hard to show because it is too overwhelming to describe so it is better to just feel it. And yes! The movie justify it’s tittle Windstruck cause I’ve been struck by the wind many times in that movie, I still can remember some scene where I’ve been struck, here goes…

  1. the moment they met (the beating scene of Kyung-jin to Myung-woo mistaken him as the criminal)

2. The moment when Myung-woo pretend as  a three times murderer, a robber and I can’t remember the other one, ah’... anyways he pretended as a criminal to quite an angry influential spoiler father, leader of some "sort of kind" or rather "kind of like a GANG" and to make him stop on slapping Kyung-jin beautiful face and to stop insulting her. (So brave (*-*) can you see the admiration in my eyes too...)

3. the moment Kyung-jin goes to the classroom of teacher Myung-woo bringing him his lunch box and declare to his students that he is her boyfriend ( I think that is the sweetest scene so far) hehe… =)

4. the moment when Myung-woo eat the food cooked by Kyung-jin without complaining and make her not obvious that he put it some water because it was too salty.(2nd sweet scene for me)

5. Off course… this is the MOMENTUM the moment Myung-woo tear a magazine page and make an airplane paper out of it and throw it to hit Kyung-jin back. (Myung-woo is just like a kid)

6. The scene they give each other a gift and it was the same “ a book” the only difference is Kyung-jin present have a drawings in each upper part of the page (drawn by Myung-woo) makes the image move while Kyung-jin lift each page.(3rd sweet scene for me)

7.  The scene when there both soaking wet because of the rain, they have a little umbrella but off course it is no use, they even play at the rain makes both of them so cute (4th sweet scene for me)

8. The scene when Kyung-jin walking in the school compound and Myung-woo driving his car going round and round to Kyung-jin, they both even making an “I’ll shoot you” act (with a finger hand gun like figure) as if like they were shooting each other. (5th sweet scene for me)

9. The scene when both Myung-woo and Kyung-jin are in the mountains with fields all around them and as the wind blows they open wide their both arms as they feel their were like flying. As Myung-woo said “When I die, I want to be a wind again, when I’ am not around and you feel the wind blows that is me” (so mysterious someone talking about their own death without fear makes me shiver) (~.~)

10. The scene Kyung-jin saved Mwung-woo while he is drowning in the river, give him CPR, carries him all the way to the top of the highway and carries him safe inside the army vessel... this line in the scene I cant forget; “Why do you save me?_Myung woo “because I don’t want to follow you after you die”_Kyung-jin.(I have limited experience in that sort of stuff, and it is kind hard to comprehend but still I find this sweet (how ironic) hehe… =)

This movie makes me feel happy (there are lot’s of funny scenes, really makes me laugh out loud), makes me sad ( if given the chance I should not include that sad scene in the story, those scene that makes me cry---> off course I’ am only kidding… ^-^ I know it is a part of the story. There are scenes that makes me scared seriously especially when the 49th death day of Mwang-woo came I almost hit the “stop” button and do not watch at all but it was more terrifying feeling not to know the end of the story so I just go on watching, wishing there are no scary scenes but yes! Thanks’ to the author and the director of the story and movie, no scary scene just scary feelings, I only scared myself and by the way there is action too and all of the action scene are “breath taking” especially the explosion of the car in Kyung-jin back while arresting a criminal (so hot yet so cool :)

The hospital scene “how many times Kyung-jin survives death makes me think (she is like a cat with 9 lives) and saying to her by the ghost Myung-woo visited her in his 49th day that it is not her time yet that their soul will meet again and he will let her know when it was. The love story continues like, like…

Like… as if the continuation of the story “Windstruck" is the “Sassy Girl”…

I first watch the Sassy Girl movie before watching Windstruck so it is like watching the part 2 while missing the part 1, that is exactly what I feel and for that reason I want to re-watch Sassy girl, I can't really re watch it now cause I’ am excited writing this, the movie "Sassy Girl" is retentive to me though i felt i need to re watch it if i have sometime….

But I’m serious I do really felt that Sassy Girl was the continuation of the Windstruck story…

Sassy girl starts the story to where the scene of Windstruck ends….

And they have the same artist anyway, Jun Ji-hyun plays as the girl while Chae-Tae-hyun as Gyun-woo in Sassy Girl also played the "guy" referred by Mwung-woo the guy in Windstruck ^-^ (pretty interesting… wasn’t it?)

Although in my research Sassy Girl is release in 2001 while Windstruck in 2004….
Just like the “Star Wars Saga” movie watch it from the end to the beginning…  (well even though if I found out that it wasn’t really the continuation, I still see some connection so I go to what my instincts says)… *pretty stubborn… (^.-)

Watching it feels like I’ am a wind….

Because ideas in my mind blows like a wind and keep typing it and loving it and loving this movie too… =)

And by the way all the scenes that the camera goes round and round those are the really reasons why I got a sudden creepy feeling… hehe… it was so thrilling at the same time head spinning and heart pounding…. ^-^
